Genetic Diagnostic Services, Risk Assessment Evaluation & DNA Testing

It is now recognized that the INTEGRATED TEST, which combines the two best first trimester markers (PAPP-A and NT measurement) with the second trimester Quad test (AFP, estriol (uE3), βHCG and Inhibin-A) will yield a superior detection rate of 94% for Down syndrome, with a 4% screen positive rate. This results in the need for fewer invasive diagnostic tests.

For patients requiring early testing, Combined results are available in the first trimester allowing for earlier diagnostic procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), while the QUAD test is appropriate for patients who present later in pregnancy. Ultrasound examinations (nuchal translucency measurements) can provide additional data for evaluations of risk, and are utilized in the Combined test and the Integrated 190 Test. LENETIX® is prepared to assist offices with NT training and accreditation procedures. This professional support ensures that their sonographers meet the standards set by the medical community.
